Is Divi Beach Aruba Public?

Yes! Divi Beach (Druif Beach) is absolutely a public beach. All beaches in Aruba are public by law. No one can restrict beach access.

This means you can access the beach via public parking along J.E. Irausquin Blvd and enjoy the sand and water without staying at a resort. Walk on the beach. Swim in the ocean. Even use one of the many first come, first served palapas. Just remember to bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas or rent them on the beach or from Coconut Rentals or Travel Light Aruba.

As a non-guest at a Divi Resort, you cannot use resort beach chairs, loungers, or palapas on resort property. This also means no access to resort pools, restaurants, or bars (unless you purchase a meal/drink), no access to resort restrooms or facilities, and of course, don’t take beach towels from the resorts. We like to think this is common sense, but it’s worth stating!

Tips for Non-Guests Visiting Divi Beach

1. Park along the main road: Free public parking is available on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard.
2. Bring your own equipment: Beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, towels, and snorkel gear.

How Crowded Does Divi Beach Get?

Compared to Aruba’s most famous beaches, Divi Beach (Druif Beach) is moderately crowded at most. It’s significantly less busy than Palm Beach but busier than some of the island’s hidden gems.

Like any beach in Aruba, arrive early in the morning, before 9 am, or late in the afternoon, after 4 pm to have it mostly to yourself. This is particularly true in the off-seasons (May – November) and on weekdays.

1. Narrower beach: While still beautiful, it’s not as wide as Eagle Beach, so it attracts fewer day-trippers.

How to Get to Divi Beach from Oranjestad

If you’re renting a car in Aruba to explore the island, you need to check out Divi Beach.

1. Head northwest on Zoutmanstraat toward Arnold M. Schuttestraat
2. Take the first right onto Wilhelm Street
3. Turn left onto Wilhelminastraat
4. Take the first left onto Arnold M. Schuttestraat
5. Turn right onto L.G. Smith Boulevard and continue
6. Go through the roundabout
7. At the next roundabout, take the third exit onto L.G. Smith Boulevard/Sasaki Weg
8. Turn right onto Caya Punta Brabo
9. Turn left onto J.E. Irausquin Boulevard
10. Look for the Divi resorts on your left (beach side)

Parking: Free along J.E. Irausquin Boulevard. Pull off on the shoulder near the resorts.

Other Transportation Options

From Airport: 10-15 minutes by car, taxi costs approximately $15-20

By Taxi: Taxis are available throughout Aruba. Make sure to agree on fare before departure ($12-20 from most locations). The rate is set by the government so should be consistent taxi to taxi.

By Bus: Arubus Route 10A/10B stops at Divi Beach. Fare is $2.60 per ride or $15 for a day pass. Buses run every 30-45 minutes.

On Foot: Easily walkable from Manchebo Beach (5 minutes) or Eagle Beach (15-20 minutes) along the shoreline.
